Contexta started from a simple moment.
After moving from Hong Kong to Canada, life became unexpectedly quiet. In that space, I found myself thinking about something I had not done for a long time — writing.
Back in secondary school, I was the chief editor of our school magazine. Writing, at the time, was not just a task, but a way to think, to organize ideas, and to make sense of the world.
So the question became: what should I write about?
Having spent years in the investment field, working across markets, companies, and capital structures, I realized that the one thing I felt most confident about was explaining how things actually work — not just what happens, but why it matters.
Contexta is built around that idea.
It focuses on investment thinking, company structures, and the mechanics of markets and the economy. The goal is not to provide predictions, but to offer clarity — to break down complex topics into something understandable and useful.
In a world full of noise, Contexta hopes to offer a different approach:
”明理誌,知天下,細味箇中浮華”
Understanding the logic beneath, seeing the bigger picture, and appreciating the complexity within.
These are small pieces of knowledge, but hopefully, they are the kind you will find valuable.
